Pastor Justin Cunningham is the visionary and overseer of The I Belong Christian Family Church. In June 2021, he birthed the ministry in the midst of a pandemic, during a time when people were quarantined, separated, and isolated. With a vision of unity and inclusion, he carefully cultivated a culture of belonging, using multi-platform social media networks to reach, preach, and teach biblical foundations. Pastor Cunningham is commonly known as "Pastor J."
Throughout his ministry, Pastor J has been a prophetic leader, particularly in the areas of corporate reconciliation within the body of Christ, prison reformation, communal faith and worship, and the equality of all humanity. His vision and message as presiding Overseer are modeled after Jesus of Nazareth and His way of radical, sacrificial love. He regularly reminds his partners (not parishioners) that they are “one part of the whole body of Christ. All parts are needed, valued, and vital for the effective movement to accomplish the Will of God.”
Widely regarded as one of the most dynamic preachers of our time, Pastor J was ordained as a minister of the Gospel in 2003. He is a Prophet by calling, a Teacher by knowledge, a Mentor by wisdom, and a Philanthropist to the world through his charitable donations and countless hours sacrificed for the edification of the church. Currently, Pastor Cunningham is walking in obedience to plant I Belong locations throughout the United States and overseas, with servicing over 10 states to date.
Pastor J possesses a sharp and precise prophetic gift to heal the sick, break the yokes of bondage, and call wealth and provision to the vision of the Lord. Through this gift, he has led many to Jesus Christ, and thousands of lives have been transformed through his ministry. His core teachings focus on Rebuilding the Broken, Character Building, Life Strategies, and Marketplace Anointing. He inspires people with his passionate and relatable approach to the Word of God. Background: Pastor J is the second of three children born to Dr. Beatrice Cunningham. At the age of 16, God called him into ministry. He became a born-again Christian and received the Holy Spirit-filled baptism with the evidence of speaking in tongues. He credits his strong prayer life to the influence of his mother, a fervent intercessor and prayer warrior. Even as a child, relatives and neighbors noticed something unique about him. Not only did he receive the Call of God, but he was also chosen to do a greater work that is bigger than him alone.
Pastor J attended Milwaukee School of the Arts in 1995. He later received his degree from American Baptist Theological Seminary in Nashville, Tennessee, and Agape Bible Seminary in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
He is married to his beautiful wife and ministry partner, Veronica Adams-Cunningham (Lady V), and together they reside in Spring, TX. They are blessed with six beautiful children and remain committed to building strong families, fostering faith, and transforming communities through the ministry of I Belong Christian Family Church.
